Building Your Own Puppet
Outcome:
- Respond to a particular style of puppetry by creating your own puppet inspired by that particular style
Assignment:
- You have studied five different types of puppetry in the last few weeks. Now, you get to choose the style that you like the most and create your own puppet in that style.
- Our classroom will turn into a studio. Independently, you will develop your puppet. However, feel free to consult with other classmates and myself if you feel stuck, can’t figure something out, or need some creative advice.
- Your puppet can be a person, a creature, and animal or an object. There are no boundaries as to what you can make!
- There will be a $5 fee for building your puppet to help to supply all of the different materials that will be needed to create the puppet of your dreams!
- When you finish drama 9, your puppet belongs to you.
Action Plan:
- Firstly, you must plan your puppet
o You will be required to submit a production plan and a rough sketch to represent what your puppet will look like at the end of the process
- Secondly, you must build your puppet
o As was mentioned earlier, you must pay a $5 fee to help contribute to your puppet supplies, but all supplies in the room are available for your use
- Thirdly, you must try to operate your puppet
